Duration: 2 Day(s) The famous festival titled as Spituk Gustor which was well-known for the region of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir. The festival ‘Spituk Gustor’, a yearly two-day basic fiesta happened at the Spituk Monastery in the Ladakh county of Jammu and Kashmir. This festival is generally detained for the duration of the 11th month of Tibetan calendar and it blotches the triumph of virtue over wickedness.
A characteristic of this Spituk Gustor is the mask dance carried out by the priests who activity different masks in place of the guardians, armaments and the deities and divinities.
The Spituk Gustor festival is renowned for the betterment of mankind. “In certainty this is not a festival, but a spiritual occasion where each god and goddess is being proposed prayers in diverse forms for the betterment of mankind,” remarked Tsering Motup, Nambardar of Spituk Village.
The Spituk Monastery is recognized for its compilation of Buddhist objects. It houses a group of antique masks, historic arms, images and plentiful Thanka pictures, all done in vegetable-stand colours.
The fiesta is being distinguished from countless centuries. Mask dance is acted upon for two days. Prayers start seven days prior to and dances are presented in the major two days,” announced Lobzang Rinchen, Coordinator, and Spituk Monastery.
